The problem and the solution:

The BMW R1300GS is factory equipped with a single USB (not fast charge) inside the storage compartment on top of the fuel tank. If one wishes to use the smartphone mounted on the handlebar this solution is not ergonomically viable because the lid cover cover can't be closed due to the charging cable. This solution solves this problem by installing the Poweroo dual USB socket on the right side of the TFT display, in place of the DIN socket.

On top of this, the kit includes the hardware to relocate the removed DIN socket below seat on the right frame fairing.

The factory supplied power connection below seat is used to power this relocated DIN socket. A custom designed mounting bracket is supplied with the kit to mount the socket.

Plug-and-Play for BMW: the charger is designed in a way to fit the factory installation of the DIN socket physically and electrically. It replaces the origin DIN socket by simply unplugging the connector from the bike's cable harness, unscrew the nut (the wrench is included in the package) and install the dual USB charger using same place and connector. The final result is a nice and seamless installation, as the example in the picture to the right in the R1300GS. This accessory is fully CAN bus compatible.

Weatherproof USB ports: when a USB plug is inserted it becomes isolated from rain and dust, due to the special design. You will need Poweroo UBPS-AC to use on the move, and not to be protected only when closed!

Independent covers: The UBPS charger features two independent covers for the USB ports. If only one is in use the other is closed and protected. The covers are easily open and closed with gloves.

Ideal original swap: the advanced features of this charger turn it into a nice option to replace the factory-supplied USB charger in your BMW (not fast charge and single port) to a versatile charging solution in your bike.
